You have to have at least some idea already on the furniture you like to buy before going out, or you might end up spending more than what you need to. Make sure to check on how much the shipping fee is and if you’re responsible for paying for it.

You can also visit furniture warehouses. They usually offer big discounts for used furniture. Some of them take in furniture that are scratched or dented already. Then, they fix them and sell it a discounted price. Which means you can buy furniture that looks almost brand new at an affordable price.

A garage sale is also a good place to find discounted furniture for your dorm. Of course most of them are items that are already pre owned, but still you can find some furniture that looks good and at a very low price. Some furniture needs just a little fixing, or you can redesign them to make it look better in your dorm. The good thing about garage sales is you can negotiate with the seller with the price of any item.

Once you’ve bought the furniture you need, you can finish up furnishing your dorm by adding some decorations. Posters and paintings are always good. You can repaint or redesign some of the furniture you bought so they can all compliment each other. Decorating your dorm is less expensive, but may require a lot of work.
